First-time here. This is the cleanest Asian market I've ever been in. And the most organized. And there isn't a weird fish odor when you enter like in most Asian markets I have frequented lately. And there are great deals. I bought a cute small 3 lb water melon...it was two pounds for a dollar....so a buck and change for a juicy watermelon. From the San Gabriel Blvd entrances, this market is at the back. You walk past various stalls to get to the actual market...but the stalls are all interesting and sell all sorts of things...clothing, jewelry, watches, zippo lighters, bulk fruits and nuts along with many varieties of green tea, boba....you can charge on through the main "avenue" to get to the market. This place is huge...and fun. I don't think it dederved the low rating whatsoever...this place is fun to explore. Highly recommend, especially the bulk fruit and nuts kiosk. They give you free samples and refreshing sample of cold green tea. I'll be back for sure!!

I don't understand the number of bad reviews. They claim that the personnel was rude but my experience twice was great. If you are planning some Vietnamese or thai curry recipe, go there as you will find every reputable product you need. They are the only one to carry the three ladies brand for the rice noodles for Pad thai. This brand is the best. They have all curries and chilies and their selection of produce is wide and fresh. I really like this place and recommend it highly.

This is a massive asian supermarket, perhaps bigger than Costco. You will find anything you need in here, I mean, anything! Huge parking too!

Possibly the cheapest, greatest, and lowest prices on red cherries, lychees, and rambutans. Pretty good prices on the fresh mangosteen too! They've a wide variety of produce and non produce goods. Also a fair variety of seafood. This looks to be more of a Vietnamese market than a Chinese one

Passed by this store on my way to dim sum at Embassy Kitchen. I need to buy some Vietnamese cold cuts ham / head cheese to make banh mi ( vietnamese sandwich for a party . Their price for cha lua and head cheese here priced one dollar less then the store near my house . I was able to grab some cilantro for .29 cents each bunch , grab some jalapeños and Daikon and carrots to make pickled vegetables to go with the Bahn mi . This store is huge has lots of well stocked items . Sadly I am in a hurry and not able to peruse the aisle .

Besides Rancho Cucamonga (RC) 99 Ranch Market, San Gabriel Superstore is my second most visited Asian supermarket when I'm out in the San Gabriel area. It's not exactly close to where I live, but I'm out in the SG Valley almost if not every weekend. My Mom and my brothers usually meet up for our weekend lunch in SGV. This SG Superstore are usually well stocked with their merchandise except when during high peak COVID-19 scare period... then they may be low or nil with their goods. I love shopping for head shrimp, Asian snacks, and their vegetables. Of course I do buy other items, but those are my go-to when I'm here. Prices aren't too bad... very comparable to other Asian markets. They also have a Yum Cha deli in the same shopping center where I pick up dim sum sometimes. Staff is okay, but you can't expect too much from an Asian supermarket. They are not there to befriend you unless you're lucky to meet a friendly cashier. Tons of parking. Give them a shop when you're in SGV. Happy Shopping!

You really haven't lived until you've heard Hank Williams' "Jambalaya"...sung in Mandarin. It was playing loud and clear on the muzak, my ma cher ami-o, in what was one huge supermarket. It was actually more than a supermarket as you walk by a lot of kiosks selling a lot of different merchandise when you go through the main entrance. Only the supermarket was open at 9PM, an hour before closing, but that was more than enough as there were so many aisles you'd have to be a regular customer to avoid getting lost, The produce and seafood sections were especially huge with the latter featuring as many fish tanks as a city aquarium. Even items like tea and cookies are offered in an endless selection in dedicated aisles. I bet you could also get jambalaya and a crawfish pie and filé gumbo. RELATED - Exploring LA?
